 the goal

Missions is not the ultimate goal of the Church. Worship is. Missions exist because worship doesn’t.
— John Piper

The goal is to someday leave behind a church...

A group of men and women throughout their tribe who understand they were once dead in their trespasses and sins but have been made alive together with Christ only because of His death and resurrection.  Taking on this new identity, this body of believers covenant together in love, through forgiveness, fellowship, discipling of new believers and service to one another under the authority of the Holy Scriptures and the leadership of elders. Meeting consistently to worship God through the teaching of His Word, they are to be a visible representation of the gospel to those around them and beyond, that God may ultimately receive the glory He deserves.

Currently in Papua New Guinea alone there are over 500 language groups who have yet to hear of the saving work of Jesus Christ, nor do they do not have access to God’s Word in their heart language. In Luke 10:2 Christ says to them,  “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” I am simply willing to be a laborer that the Lord may be glorified and known.

HOW DO WE GET THERE?

MISSIONARY TRAINING + PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Two years of practical and spiritual training to equip me for the ministry of cross-cultural church planting among an unreached people group.

ORIENTATION IN PAPUA NEW GUINEA | TEAM FORMATION

In these 7-10 months, I will learn the National Language of Papua New Guinea – Tok Pisin, as well as, practical church planting tools to prepare me to move into the tribe. Also during this time, I will be prayerfully joining a team to carry out this goal together.

ALLOCATION INTO A TRIBE | TRIBAL CULTURE AND LANGUAGE STUDY

Once we move into a tribe, we will begin the process of simultaneously learning the culture & tribal language. This process could take roughly 3+ years.

LITERACY | TRANSLATION | CHRONILOGICAL l BIBLE TEACHING | DISCIPLESHIP

Once culture and language study is complete, our team will develop an orthography and teach the people how to read and write in their own language so that one day they can read the Word of God. We will begin translating God’s Word into their language in preparation for teaching chronologically through the Bible.

After we are able to teach them God’s Word, Lord-willing, He will draw men and women to a saving faith and an infant church will be born. We will then spend our days continuing to disciple, translate, teach and equip them with the goal of passing the baton to them to lead each other and to take the teaching and hope they have found in Christ to the far corners of their people group and beyond to the neighboring tribes. This could take anywhere from 10-15+ years.
